Unique like the “Home” We Live In
Staying true to our uniqueness, being different in a world that wants us all to be the same…. Being special, taking care of ourselves and the details, celebrating small things in a world where “everything already exists… seems like an impossible mission.
And yet there’s always something… deep down if you look carefully, it’s not even that far away.” We often miss it because we’re so used to looking far away to find something special that we forget that “our home” is the keeper of so much beauty, that maybe in each of our uniqueness there’s something surprising, that perhaps we can do or interpret something like no one else can. Maybe we live in such a special or unique place that we can draw something wonderful from it.
Details: the True Treasure to Preserve
Often it’s the small details that make the difference. Often, these small details truly fill the world around us, but we’ve stopped noticing them… Watching young children, you can clearly see what WONDER is, what it means to be enchanted.
Our uniqueness already makes us different from everyone else: our history, our passions, the place we live, our way of presenting and expressing ourselves are ours alone.
A few months ago, although the research phase actually started a few years ago, I finally began to outline a series of products and services that truly represented me. I realized it was all there within reach, but I kept refusing to see it…. The linen clothes I started making aren’t unique in the world. You can find similar ones in appearance, color, or style. But they do have something unique, and this makes the difference: The place that inspired them, the names they carry, their fragrance, and the details that distinguish them.
These details can be embroidery, or paintings I create, or maybe the buttons I choose.
From here comes the truly surprising thing: THE DETAILS THAT MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.
Little Buttons, Mon Amour
When I posted some little buttons that had just arrived on my stories a few weeks ago… I received lots of messages about this small detail ;))))) Those tiny objects were highly appreciated, and the interactions I received clearly showed how much a small detail can truly make a difference. My invitation then becomes to search within yourself for that small detail that makes the difference, that makes things more beautiful and unique.
My invitation becomes to celebrate that uniqueness and commit fully to doing what you do really well, whatever it may be. Because in a world where everything already exists, what will make us stand out above others is what we’ll do better than others, in a more special way and with more CARE.
Let’s start with small things… let’s start by beautifying our clothes or our creations with a special wooden button! And the rest will follow!
